Stillman named SoCon womens soccer Player of the Week
SPARTANBURG, SC – UNC Greensboro senior goalkeeper Jennifer Stillman has been named the Southern Conference women’s soccer Player of the Week for her performance last week in leading the Spartans to two league wins.
Stillman opened the week with a 4-0 shutout over Appalachian State in which she recorded four saves. The shutout was her school-record 22nd of her career. The Randolph, NJ native passed Kathryn Clewley who recorded 21 blankings from 1998-2001.
She followed her record-breaking performance with a second consecutive shutout, this time notching five saves for her fifth shutout in UNCG’s 3-0 win over Elon. Entering this week’s competition, Stillman currently stands second in the SoCon in goals against average (0.69), save percentage (.837) and shutouts (5).
UNCG returns to action Friday evening when the Spartans travel to Spartanburg to take on Wofford. Game time is slated for 7 pm at Snyder Field on the Wofford campus.
