UNCG earns team academic award from NSCAA
GREENSBORO, NC – The UNC Greensboro women’s soccer team has been awarded the Team Academic Award by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for its cumulative 3.14 grade point average during the 2005-06 academic year.
A total of 316 soccer teams (81 men, 235 women) were awarded the academic award and posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, the minimum grade point average required to qualify.
This is the sixth Team Academic Award the Spartans have received under head coach Eddie Radwanski.
The Spartans finished the 2006 season with a 13-8-2 overall record and captured the Southern Conference regular season title as well as the SoCon Tournament crown after finishing conference play 9-0-1. Radwanski helped UNCG advance to the NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament for the seventh time in the program’s history.
