Spartans win women's tennis home opener, 5-2, over High Point

GREENSBORO, NC – Lisa Suggs, Emily Wade and Erica Zabkar each earned straight-set wins in singles action as UNC Greensboro opened the home portion of its 2006 spring schedule with a 5-2 win over High Point at UNCG Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon.

Suggs defeated Suzanne Celensu by scores of 7-5 and 6-2, while Wade defeated Iris Schabetsberger by 6-3 and 6-4. Zabkar also recorded an easy win, turning away Jody Wecks by scored of 6-2 and 6-4.

Sophie Rychlik also earned a win in singles’ action, defeating Kelly Tolman in a third-set tiebreaker.

UNCG (1-2) returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Liberty University.
