UNCG rolls past Elon in SoCon women's tennis action, 6-1
GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro won five of six singles matches and swept the three doubles pro-sets on its way to a 6-1 win over Elon in Southern Conference women’s tennis match Tuesday afternoon.
The Spartans earned straight-set wins by Lisa Suggs, Whitney Miles, Erica Zabkar and Sophie Rychlik. Rychlik had the easiest time, defeating Alli Benton, 6-0, 6-2. UNCG’s Lourdes Moran also rallied after losing the first set to pick-up a three-set win.
Elon’s lone win on the afternoon came at No. 2 singles where Kelly Fleck defeated Emily Wade in three sets, 6-0, 4-6, 6-1.
UNCG hits the road for a pair of SoCon matches this weekend, beginning with a match at College of Charleston on Saturday at 10 am.
