UNCG tops North Carolina A&T, 7-0, in women’s tennis action

GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro opened up the spring season with a dominating 7-0 win over cross-town rival North Carolina A&T in women's tennis action Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans got straight set wins in all seven matches. Freshmen Valerie Behr and Jess Eblen blanked each of their opponents, 6-0 and 6-0. Junior Erica Zabkar cruised past Jaymee Jones, 6-1 and 6-0. Courtney Akel, a sophomore from Little Rock, AR, also came away with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Porche Martin. Perry Loeser, a Winston-Salem, NC product, picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Destiny Williams.

UNCG (1-0) takes a short trip to High Point to take on the Panthers on Tuesday for a 2 pm match-up.
