UNCG's Guerra named SoCon Player of the Month

SPARTANBURG, SC - UNC Greensboro No. 1 singles player Alejandra Guerra has been named the Southern Conference's Women's Tennis Player of the Month.  

Guerra, a junior from Tampico, Mexico, was 8-0 during the month of March, including 3-0 in league play. The perfect mark helped run her then-undefeated streak in conference to 11 matches. The senior was also 6-3 in doubles play with teammate Arielle VonStrolley. Guerra's streak was snapped on April 5 in a loss to Furman.

For the year, Guerra is now 23-8, including an 11-3 mark in dual match play. The reigning Southern Conference Player of the Year, Guerra is 6-1 in league play this season. She is ranked No. 92 in the nation in the latest ITA Division I rankings.

UNCG returns to action on Saturday when they visit Chattanooga for an 11 am match.
