Sasha Skripkina wins flight title at USTA Women's Tennis Collegiate Invitational

FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. - UNC Greensboro's Sasha Skripkina won a three-set thriller over teammate Mikayla Rogers to win the Flight G title at the USTA Women's Tennis Collegiate Invitational.

Skripkina, a freshman from Kiev, Ukraine, won the opening set 7-6, 10-8 in the tiebreaker. Rogers, a redshirt junior from Salem, Ore., bounced back to win the second set , 7-6, 7-3 in the tiebreaker. However, Skripkina won the final set by a 6-4 score to with the flight championship.

All consolation bracket matches were cancelled on Monday. UNCG returns to action next Saturday at the Davidson Invitational.
