UNCG handles East Carolina, 5-2
GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNC Greensboro won all three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches to defeat East Carolina, 5-2, in women's tennis action on Thursday afternoon.
Stephanie Macfarlane, Valerie Behr, Annette Rios and Sasha Skripkina each won twice as the Spartans raised their record to 4-1 on the spring season. Behr rallied from down a set to defeat Natalie Collins, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0, with a 10-3 score in the third-set tiebreaker. Skripkina won a pair of tiebreakers to win at No. 6 singles, defeating Tamara Sachs by tiebreaker scores of 7-2 and 7-4.
The Spartans will return to action on Saturday when they host Chattanooga in UNCG's Southern Conference opener. The start time is set for 1 p.m.
