Wilkins Selected for Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG's women's tennis standout Niltooli Wilkins (Burnsville, Minn. /Homeschooled) earned a prequalifying singles spot to play in the 2012 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships held in Pacific Palisades, Calif., on Oct. 4-7.

"Tooli's invitation to the ITA All-American championships is a testament to the hard work she has put in and the success she has had since she joined our program," said head coach Jeff Trivette. "It's fantastic that she is able to represent UNCG at a national event that includes all of best college tennis players in the country."

For the 28th year, the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, CA, will serve as the host site for the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships. The national event is set to being on Saturday, Sept. 29 with pre-qualifying singles and doubles matches, which will once again be hosted by UCLA. Main draw action is slated for Thursday, Oct. 4-Sunday, Oct. 7 at the Riviera Tennis Club.

Last season, Wilkins was named SoCon Player of the Year. She went 30-6 in singles on the season, setting a school record for single-season wins. She was an impressive 20-1 in dual play, ending the season on a 20-match winning streak after dropping her first match of the spring campaign. Wilkins finished the year ranked 20th in the final ITA regional rankings.

The Spartans women's tennis team returns to play at the Wake Forest Invitational Oct. 5-7, in Winston-Salem.
