Niltooli Wilkins Heads to Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships
ITA Singles Draw
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women's tennis program sends off senior Niltooli Wilkins (Burnsville, Minn. / Homeschooled) to compete in the 2012 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships Saturday, Sept. 29 in Pacific Palisades, California.
"Niltooli has worked hard and this is the fruition of her hard work and the effort she's put in over the years," said head coach Jeff Trivette. "I just want her to relax and have fun and play hard, just look at it as an opportunity to maybe knock some people off."
Wilkins will begin in the pre-qualifying singles bracket, including 63 other players. Participants must win three matches to advance to the qualifying round. If Wilkins reaches the qualifying round, she would need to win three additional matches to advance to the main draw of the ITA Women's All-American Championships.
"I've been working on my serve, my movement around the court and recovering," said Wilkins. "If I am able to incorporate those things we've been working on I'll be able to get some good results."
Play will begin Saturday with two rounds of singles followed by Sunday's final round. Main draw action is slated for Thursday, Oct. 4-Sunday, Oct. 7 at the Riviera Tennis Club.
