UNCG opens 2010 season at Guilford College Cross Country Carnival
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG cross country team will kick off its 2010 season this weekend as the Spartans make the short trip down Market St. to compete in the Second Annual Guilford College Cross Country Carnival on Saturday morning at Haworth Field.
The men's race begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by the women's race at 10:15 a.m.
Competing for the men's team on Saturday will be Tyron Alston, Ben Constantinedes, Taylor Day, Kenny Hinman, Taylor Hurst, Ed Matthews, Ryan Solomon and Ben Vasquez.
Michelle Chewens, Jade Farlow, Anna Grimes, Shannon Hall and Jenna Paley will represent the women's team.
Last week, the men's team was picked to finish second in the SoCon Preseason Poll behind defending conference champion Appalachian State. The women's team was tabbed to finish in a tie for seventh with Western Carolina by the league's head coaches.
