Cross Country 2012 Schedule Released
The 2012 UNCG cross country schedule was released Friday and will take the defending Southern Conference champion UNCG men’s and women’s cross country teams to six events prior to the SoCon Championships held October 27 in Charleston, S.C. The Spartan men won the conference title by 47 points while the women took home a 45-point victory as UNCG dominated the event last fall.

Ashley Schnell Nominated For NCAA Woman Of The Year Honors
– UNCG cross country/track and field redshirt senior Ashley Schnell (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln North Star) has been nominated for the 22nd annual NCAA Woman of the Year Award. A total of 429 female student-athletes, spanning NCAA Division I, II and III were nominated for the award, which honors graduating female student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG had 91 student-athletes honored on the 2011-12 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The Spartans also had 39 student-athletes earn Commissioner’s Medal accolades, which marks GPA of 3.50 or higher.
