GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team will honor its senior class of 11 prior to the game against ETSU on Saturday, May 14.
Before senior day, we asked the senior class to reflect on their time in the blue and gold.
Our first senior is
Kross Robinson. Robinson transferred to UNC Greensboro from Brevard College where he was a Third Team All-Conference selection. So far in his career, he has pitched 163.1 innings, struck out 190 batters, and pitched one complete game in 76 appearances.
During his time as a Spartan, Robinson has racked up eight saves, including a 16-13 win over N.C. State on February 23, 2021. It was the first win over the Wolfpack since 2015.
This season, he has struck out 22 batters in 14 innings pitched. He has three saves, including a 10-9 win over the Central Florida Knights where he stuck out the last batter swinging.
Robinson has shined in the classroom, most recently being inducted into the UNCG Golden Chain Honor Society. Last season he was named to the All-Southern Conference Honor Roll.
Robinson will graduate this month with his Master's degree in Applied Arts and Science.
Why did you choose UNCG?
I chose UNCG because I wanted a first-class experience athletically as well academically. After speaking with the coaching staff and administration, I knew that Greensboro was the obvious choice.
What has been your favorite baseball moment at UNCG?
My favorite baseball moment was being a part of the team's win against NC State
What piece of advice would you give to future Spartans?
Enjoy what you are doing. Do NOT place your worth as a person in your ability to play a game. Always compete at your best but know that your value is not determined by your baseball ability.
What do you want to be remembered for?
I want to be remembered as a leader. I want to be someone that had no fear in being transparent in his beliefs. I want to be remembered as someone who fought for his team.
