Chris Griffin

Chris Griffin enters his first season as an assistant coach at UNCG. Griffin has been an NCAA Division I assistant coach for the last four years, making stops at Murray State and most recently Tennessee.

Griffin spent the 2014-15 season as the assistant coach at Tennessee where he helped the Volunteers finish the season ranked No. 8 in the nation. He was part of the Tennessee team that finished fourth at the Southeastern Conference Championships and third at the San Antonio Regional. The volunteers advanced to the NCAA Championships and made it into the match play portion of the event. He coached two All-America honorees at Tennessee last year.

Prior to Tennessee, Griffin was an assistant coach at Murray State from 2011-14. He helped the Racers earn to NCAA Regional appearances in 2014 while winning the Ohio Valley Conference Championship. He coached the 2014 OVC Player of the Year and the 2011 OVC Freshman of the Year.

Griffin was a three-year letterwinner at Murray State on the men’s golf team. He guided the Racers to the OVC Championship as a senior and an appearance in the NCAA Regionals. He earned All-Conference honors as a senior and was named to the OVC All-Tournament team. He was named to the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll every year during his career (2005-10) and was the SAAC Vice President in 2008-09.

Griffin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in marketing in 2009 from Murray State and his Masters of Business Administration in 2010.
