CHAPEL HILL N.C. – The UNCG women's tennis team took the court in its first midweek competition of the spring season Wednesday afternoon in Chapel Hill. The Spartans suffered a 7-0 defeat to the No. 5 North Carolina Tar Heels in the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
The dual match was UNCG's first competition since January 17th, as the previous two matches were postponed due to winter storm Jonas.
UNCG was unable to earn a match win in the contest. Jamie Grinberg (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) was able to take the first set against Maggie Kane, 6-2, before falling in the second and final sets. The doubles match of Masey DeMoss (Mayodan, N.C./McMichael) and Grinberg did not finish play.
