RALEIGH, N.C. – UNCG Men's Tennis fell to the North Carolina State Wolfpack on Sunday evening in Raleigh. The Spartans fell 6-1 at the hands of the No. 25 Wolfpack. UNCG is now 3-3 on the season after losing a pair of matches to top 25 teams this week.
“We fought hard today, but we have a ways to go before we can beat a top 25 team.” Men's Head Coach Jeff Trivette said, “We had our chances but weren't confident enough to get the job done.”
UNCG swept the doubles portion of the event. William Albright (Greensboro, N.C./Grimsley) and Warren Bryan (Greensboro, N.C./Longwood) took the No. 1 doubles 6-2. Connor Thompson (Atlanta, Ga./Holy Innocents) and Daniel Mack (Lakeland, Fla./Lakeland) took No. 2 doubles, 6-4.
The Spartans couldn't manage a win in the singles competition. Albright and Bryan played tough, but fell in three sets. Thompson also played well against #72 Nick Horton, but suffered a defeat.
