GREENVILLE, N.C. – The UNCG Men's Tennis team picked up another 4-3 victory on Thursday afternoon. The Spartans used a 7-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory from Danny Mack (Lakeland, Fla./Lakeland) at No. 2 singles to earn the victory over the East Carolina Pirates. UNCG improves to 7-5 on the season.
The Spartans were able to take the doubles point, earning wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Warren Bryan (Greensboro, N.C./Grimsley) and William Albright (Greensboro, N.C./Longwood) took No. 1, 7-6. Connor Thompson (Atlanta, Ga./Holy Innocents) and Mack won No. 2 doubles 6-2.
Thompson and Albright continued winning, taking No. 1 and No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-4 respectively. After UNCG fell in the No. 4-6 singles matches, the Spartans needed a win from Mack at the No. 2 spot for the win. Mack fell 7-6 in the first set, before taking the next two and the match 6-4 and 6-2.
