GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG Men's Tennis team suffered its first home loss of the season on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans fell to the Mountaineers of Appalachian State, 5-2 at the UNCG Tennis Courts. UNCG is now 3-4 on the season.
The Spartans won one of the three doubles matches but were unable to record a point in that portion. Connor Thompson (Atlanta, Ga./Holy Innocents) and Daniel Mack (Lakeland, Fla./Lakeland) picked up the victory, scoring a 6-0 win over the pair of Oliver Casey and Jack Maddocks.
In singles action, William Albright (Greensboro, N.C./Grimsley) and Warren Bryan (Greensboro, N.C./Longwood) each took their singles matches. Albright won in three sets at No. 4 singles, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Bryan took the No. 5 spot 6-2, 6-4. Thompson and Mack each fell in three sets.
