GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG Women's Tennis team was unable to complete the weekend sweep on Saturday afternoon at the UNCG Tennis Courts. The Spartans fell 6-1 to Chattanooga after defeating Western Carolina the day before. UNCG is now 5-5, and 1-1 in Southern Conference play.
In the doubles competition, UNCG took only one of the three matches and failed to earn a point. The pair of Masey DeMoss (Mayodan, N.C./McMichael) and Jamie Grinberg (Chapel Hill, N.C/East Chapel Hill) took the No. 3 competition 7-5.
In singles action, DeMoss recorded the lone point, defeating Rachele Gazzola in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 10-8. Grinberg also had a tough match at the No. 5 position, falling in two sets, 7-6, 7-5.
