GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG Men's Tennis team defeated the Radford Highlanders 4-3 at the UNCG Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon. The Spartans have had a tough go of it as of late, dropping three-straight, two to ranked opponents prior to Sunday's match.
Warren Bryan (Greensboro, N.C./Grimsley) and William Albright (Greensboro, N.C./Longwood) took the No. 1 position in doubles, knocking off Janken Thoen and Samuel Taylor 7-5. Connor Thompson (Atlanta, Ga./Holy Innocents) and Daniel Mack (Lakeland, Fla./Lakeland) took No. 2 over Jose Moreno Manzano, and Michiel Meekers 6-3 to give UNCG the first point of the afternoon.
The Spartans and Highlanders split the six singles matches. Thompson, Mack and Bryan all earned victories to give UNCG the win. Thompson won No.1 in three sets, with Mack taking No.2 in two sets, 6-0, 6-2 and Bryan No. 5, 6-0, 6-0.
