GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG Women's Tennis team earned a convincing 6-1 victory over the Fairfield Stags on Tuesday afternoon at the UNCG Tennis Courts. The Spartans improve to 6-5, while Fairfield falls to 1-9.
UNCG started the afternoon by sweeping the doubles competition. Sarah Swiderski (Wesley Chapel, Fla./Saddelbrook Prep) and Yasmin Franco (Largo, Fla./Indian Rocks Christian) won the No. 1 competition, 6-1. Jamie Grinberg (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) and Masey DeMoss (Mayodan, N.C./McMichael) along with Nancy Bridges (Shelby, N.C./Shelby) and Corinne Blythe (Leicestershire, Great Britain/Queenswood School) won No. 2 and No. 3, both 6-1.
Swiderski, DeMoss, Grinberg, Blythe and Bridges all took their singles matches in two sets. Swiderski won No. 2 6-0, 6-0, with Grinberg winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4. DeMoss took No. 3, 6-1, 6-3; and Bridges took No. 6 6-2, 6-2.
