SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Masey DeMoss (Mayodan, N.C./McMichael) earned two victories in Sunday's match against the Wofford Terriers. DeMoss took No. 3 singles, in three sets and along with partner Yasmin Franco (Largo, Fla./Indian Rocks Christian) took No. 3 doubles. The Spartans fell to the Terriers 5-2, at the Reeves Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon. The Spartans are now 8-11 on the year, and 2-5 in the Southern Conference.
UNCG couldn't gain the doubles advantage, falling in two of the three matches. Blaine Boaz (Dunwoody, Ga./Saint Pius X) and Sarah Swiderski (Wesley Chapel, Fla./Saddlebrook Prep) fell 7-6 at No. 2, with Amy Ellis (Cheshire, Great Britain) and Corinne Blythe (Leicestershire, Great Britain) fell 6-1 at No. 1.
In singles play, Nancy Bridges (Shelby, N.C./Shelby) earned the other Spartan point, taking No. 5, 7-5, 2-6, and 10-3. Boaz suffered a narrow defeat at No. 4, falling 2-6, 6-4, 10-7. Swiderski suffered a 6-4, 6-3 loss at No. 1, with Ellis dropping two sets at No. 2.
