GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG women's tennis suffered a 4-2 defeat to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Saturday afternoon at the UNCG tennis courts. Sarah Swiderski (Wesley Chapel, Fla./Saddlebrook Prep) and Masey DeMoss (Mayodan, N.C./McMichael) were able to notch singles victories in the match.
The Spartans dropped No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, 6-4 and 6-1, respectively. No. 2 was left unfinished after the Chanticleers took the doubles point.
Swiderski, competing at No. 2 singles, defeated Natalie Wall, 6-4. DeMoss soundly defeated Maria Khomchenko in straight-sets, 6-4, 6-4. Nancy Bridges (Shelby, N.C./Shelby) dropped a narrow defeat at No. 6 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (4-7) as UNCG was unable to notch another point against the Chanticleers.
