CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UNCG women's tennis fell 4-1 to the Charlotte 49ers on Friday afternoon in Charlotte. The Spartans got a win from Masey DeMoss (Mayodan, N.C./McMichael) at No. 3 singles, but could not garner another point. Two matches went unfinished.
DeMoss and partner Alice Taylor (Cambridge, Great Britain/UMBC) took down Pierina Imparato and Megan Smith, 6-3 at No.1 doubles. UNCG could not come up with another win, falling 6-4 at No. 2, and 6-2 at No. 3.
DeMoss managed UNCG's lone point in singles play, defeating Alexandra Lee, 6-1, 6-4. Nancy Bridges (Shelby, N.C./Shelby) and Blaine Boaz (Dunwoody, Ga./Saint Pius X) each took their matches to three sets, but they went unfinished.
