CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – UNCG women's tennis dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision Sunday afternoon in Chattanooga. The Spartans fall to 1-9 on the season with the loss. UNCG split the singles competition, but could not gain the advantage after doubles play, falling to the Mocs.
Blaine Boaz (Dunwoody, Ga./Saint Pius X) and Nancy Bridges (Shelby, N.C./Shelby) earned UNCG's victory at No. 2 doubles. The pair defeated Delaney Edwards and Sydney Patton, 7-5. UNCG fell 6-3 at No. 1, and 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.
Masey DeMoss (Mayodan, N.C./McMichael) notched a victory at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-4. Sophia Adams bumped up to the No. 5 spot, defeating Ragele Gazzola, 6-3, 7-5. Boaz had a knocked off McKenzie Barco, 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (1-5) in a back and forth match at No. 6.
