GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG women's tennis celebrated the careers of Masey DeMoss (Mayodan, N.C./McMichael) and Yasmin Franco (Largo, Fla./Indian Rocks Christian) prior to the start of Saturday's match with the Samford Bulldogs.  UNCG dropped the match 5-2 and fall to 3-17 overall and 2-4 in the Southern Conference.  Samford improves to 10-9 and 2-3 in the SoCon. 

Samford was able to take the doubles point, taking No. 1 and No. 2.  Corinne Blythe and Sophia Adams (Miami, Fla./TERRA Environmental Institute) avoided the sweep, defeating Savannah Wood and Arianna Beltrame, 6-3. 

In singles play, UNCG recorded two points behind wins from Adams and Nancy Bridges (Shelby, N.C./Shelby).  Adams defeated Grace Jennings in two sets, 7-5, 6-3 at No. 4.  Bridges recorded a three-set victory over Elsa Pool at No. 3, 6-2 6-7 (7-9), 6-3).
