GREENVILLE, N.C. – UNCG men's tennis took the court against the East Carolina Pirates Wednesday afternoon in Greenville. The Spartans dropped the nonconference match, 4-1 and even their record at 6-6. ECU improves to 17-3 on the season.
East Carolina tookt he doubles point, winning No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, 6-3, 6-4, respectively. Connor Thompson (Atlanta, Ga./Holy Innocents) earned UNCG's lone point of the day, defeating Vlad Anghel, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1. Nico Grewe (Raleigh, N.C./Wakefield) and Jack Burkill (London, Great Britain/Millfield School) had matches at No. 5 and No. 6 go unfinished as ECU had taken the match with wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4.
