SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
-- The Spartans led the SoCon in scoring defense the previous season, with the side's 55.3 points allowed per game ranking 16th in the country
-- UNCG won seven of its last nine games to close out the previous season. Of their four losses after the start of February only one came against a team other than Samford
-- Returners Aja Boyd and CeCe Crudup combined for 63 appearances the previous season. Boyd earned preseason All-SoCon recognition after averaging 11.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game last campaign

SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA
-- UNC opened the current campaign with a win over Radford this past Wednesday, taking the home contest by a final of 90-61
-- Six Tar Heels scored in double-digits against the Highlanders, with UNC outrebounding Radford 59 to 34

-- The Tar Heels lead the all-time series against the Spartans 12-5, beating UNCG 83-62 in their previous meeting, December 14, 2018
