GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNCG women's basketball (1-7, 0-0) will see a familiar face on the opposing bench this Sunday with recent Spartan graduate Alexus Willey accompanying visiting Converse College (1-0, 0-0) as a Graduate Assistant Coach for a 2 p.m. tip-off in Fleming.

During her time at UNCG Willey played in 124 games, placing her fourth in Spartan history all-time, just behind former teammates Te'ja Twitty (125), Alexis Pitchford (128) and Nadine Soliman (128). The guard from Waldorf, Maryland ranks sixth in Spartan history with 155 career three-pointers, helping to lead UNCG to its first SoCon title since 2002 during her senior season. 

While Converse's record shows only a single game, the Valkyrie have actually participated in three contests overall, most recently playing exhibition matchups against Lipscomb and Furman. This Sunday's game will be the third that Converse College has played against a Division I opponent this year, in turn it will be the Spartans' third against a non-Division I.

HOW'S THEIR FORM?
-- The Spartans most recently found themselves pitted against SEC opponent Tennessee in Knoxville back on the 20th of December. UNCG took a 66-40 loss during that game but saw senior guard Tori Powell score a career-high of 16 points, giving her an average of 12 over the past four games
-- The Valkyrie gave Lipscomb University all it could handle on the 18th, trailing by just eight points at the halftime break before succumbing to an 82-60 loss. 

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
-- Powell's recent run of form has pulled her up to an average of 7.8 points per game on the year, just two off team leader CeCe Crudup (9.8). She also leads the UNCG roster with 13 steals, 13 three-pointers and a .333 average from beyond the arc
-- Redshirt-senior Rhianna Council contributed some key minutes off the bench against Tennessee, registering Spartan career-highs in points (5), rebounds (5) and steals (2)
-- The Spartans have recorded nine blocks over the past three games, in comparison to the combined total of two they had in the first five competitions of the season. Part of that effort can be attributed to the play of freshman Khalis Cain, who has started each of the Spartans' last four contests and leads her team with six rejections on the year

SCOUTING CONVERSE
-- Sophomore Lindsey Hardin opened the season with a 17-point performance in Converse's win over Coker, adding another 22 in an exhibition loss to Lipscomb
-- Freshman Keyshuna Fair is averaging over seven boards a game, pulling down 14 against Coker alone. She also has hit a pair of three-pointers on the year

SERIES HISTORY
-- This is the first time in program history that the Spartans are meeting with Converse College
-- UNCG will be the third Division I program the Valkyrie have played this year. Converse is yet to defeat a team from the D1 level
