GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNCG men's tennis meets FGCU for the first time in its history this Saturay, competing against the Eagles in a neutral site contest in Wilmington, N.C. The Spartans are looking to bounce back from a pair of 4-3 losses this past week, coming just short of Radford on Wednesday, and SoCon rival Furman on Saturday. The Eagles are coming off a loss to No. 33 Miami last week, and will boast a 3-4 record, going into this weekend's matchup.

- This is the first time that UNCG will take on FGCU during the spring season
- This will also be the first time the Spartans will take on a current ASUN member outside of Liberty, whom UNCG currently holds a 2-9 record against
The Spartans
- Junior Nico Grewe is a perfect 3-0 in singles play this season, making his season debut at the No. 3 seed against Radford earlier this week
- Sophomore Cooper Wyett made his season debut against the Highlanders, grabbing a straight set victory in No. 6 singles, and combining with Hugh Knapp for a 6-4 win in No. 3 doubles
- Knapp and Ollie Palmer both have wins in the No. 1 seed this year, with Palmer defeating Furman's Jake Munns over three sets last weekend
- Freshman Alexander Zuckerman rebounded from his season opener loss, with back-to-back singles wins over Furman and Radford's No. 5 seeds
The Eagles
- Senior Felipe Ramirez owns a team best 4-1 record while competing in the No. 1 seed this year, and is currently on a four-match win streak
- Freshman Juan Lopez is the only other Eagle to have multiple wins in singles play this year, holding a 2-1 record overal. His lone loss came during FGCU's match against No. 33 Miami
COMING UP NEXT
The Spartans come back home for a match against visiting Appalachian State next Friday at 2 p.m. UNCG defeated the Mountaineers 4-2 in Boone the previous season, and are 5-3 against the side since 2012.
