Spartans Face Penultimate Test Of The Regular Season

GREENSBORO, N.C.  – Looking for a fifth straight win this Thursday, UNCG women's basketball can all but secure a Southern Conference regular season title with a victory at Samford this week. With a 9-3 record in conference play, the Spartans sit just a half a game ahead of Chattanooga (9-4) for the top spot in the SoCon. The Spartans can clinch a conference title with a win over Samford and a UTC loss to ETSU, or back-to-back wins over Samford and Mercer to close out the regular season.

-- The Spartans are 7-17 against Samford all-time after falling to the Bulldogs 56-42 in Greensboro at the start of the month

The Spartans wrap up the regular season against Mercer on Saturday, facing the Bears in Macon at 2 p.m. UNCG already defeated Mercer when the side came to Greensboro at the end of January by a final score of 67-51.
