GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNCG women's tennis sweeps NC Central in a 7-0 final at Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center on Tuesday. The Spartans are now on a three-match winning streak, beating opponents 18-3 over that streak.

UNCG took the doubles point, with all three Spartan pairings emerging victorious. Erika Barquero and Ariana Chan combined for their second straight win at the No. 1 seed, dropping the Eagles' No. 1 by a final of 6-2. Sophia Adams and Hanna Giddings won by the same score over on court two, extending their own doubles winning streak to five consecutive. Making her spring debut on Tuesday, junior Emily Ory played alongside Tayah Cross in the third seed, completing the doubles sweep for UNCG with a 7-5 final.

All six of the Spartans' singles points came in straight sets, with the Eagles combining for just 26 game wins. Erika Barquero is on a four match win streak in singles, after defeating NCCU's No. 1 by set scores of 6-2 and 6-4. Sophia Adams and Brianna Gomez both shut down their opponents on courts two and three respectively. Adams allowed her opposite just two games in back-to-back 6-1 sets, while Gomez shut out her opponent in the first frame and took the second by a final of 6-4.

Hanna Giddings clinched her second match win of the day with a victory at the No. 4 seed, grabbing her singles win by scores of 6-3 and 6-1. Eugenia Camacho delivered two straight 6-2 set wins, while Ariana Chan closed out the afternoon, winning by finals of 6-2 and 6-4 at the No. 6.

The Spartans have been dominant in their past three matches, with their current win streak including a 5-2 SoCon win over Western Carolina at home.

The Spartans stay in state with a road contest against Davidson on Sunday, before getting back to conference play in Birmingham, against Samford.
