WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Hannah Mitchell was a winner for the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team on the opening day of the ITA Carolina Regionals Thursday night.
The event is hosted by Wake Forest and being played at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
Mitchell, a freshman from Orange Beach, Al., prevailed in straight sets in a consolation round match.
Mitchell, who celebrates her birthday during the Christmas season, comes to UNCG with an impressive pedigree.
The psychology major was named the 2019 USTA Alabama Female Junior Player of the Year and won the 2019 Polar Bear Junior Classic. Mitchell placed second at the 2018 & 2019 Alabama State.

Ariana Chan dropped a heartbreaking 8-7 decision in a tiebreak.
