GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team will head to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for a two-game tournament hosted by Coastal Carolina over Thanksgiving weekend.
The Spartans will play host, Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, on Friday at 2 p.m. They will take a day in between games and will close out the tournament will a Sunday morning game against the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs at 11 a.m.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
-- The Spartans are coming off a two-game homestand where they defeated Winthrop, 69-39, and Lenoir-Rhyne, 68-47, to improve their record to 3-1. Their lone blemish came against ACC member, Wake Forest.
--UNCG welcomed back graduate student,
Aja Boyd, to the floor after 624 days. She played 19 minutes and put up 16 points and grabbed seven boards. Her 16 points led the game.

Pernilla Sorensen also made her 2021-22 debut. She finished with 11 points and went 3-for-6 behind the arc.
--Freshman
Isys Grady leads the Spartans in total points with 49. She is ranked eighth in the SoCon.
SCOUTING COASTAL CAROLINA
--The Chanticleers are perfect on the season so far with four wins under their belt. Their most recent win was on Saturday, a 73-62 win over UNC Wilmington.
--Two Chants scored double-digit points. Aja Blount led with 23 points while Tyra Brown followed with 20.
--Blount also leads the team in total rebounds. She has 12 offensive and 20 defensive for a total of 32 on the season.
--Blayre Shultz is 6-for-15 from beyond the arc which leads the team.
SERIES HISTORY
-- Coastal Carolina leads the all-time series, 3-2. The last meeting was during the 2019-20 season with the Chanticleers taking the game 63-54.
