GREENSBORO, N.C. – On a 355-mile journey to Princess Anne, Maryland, the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team will face non-conference foe the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday, December 11 at 2 p.m.
 
The afternoon contest will be just the fourth time the two teams are facing each other as well as the longest trip on the Spartans' non-conference schedule.
 
This will be the Spartans' sixth game in 16 days and fifth contest away from Fleming Gymnasium.
 
A Look at UNC Greensboro
  • UNCG fell to the College of Charleston, 75-68, on Tuesday night at home, as the Cougars halted the Spartans' home win streak.
  • Aja Boyd led UNCG's offense with 15 points, while Nia Howard chipped in 14 points and Jaylynn Brown added 11.
  • Boyd, Isys Grady, and sophomore Khalis Cain each tallied seven rebounds.
  • Grady has scored in double figures in eight-straight games and leads the Spartans in scoring (12.3 points per game).
  • As of December 9, Cain (54.2 percent) and Grady (50 percent) are first and second, respectively, in the Southern Conference in field goal percentage.
  • Cain is second in offensive rebounds, averaging 4.0 per game, totaling 36 thus far this season. Grady leads the way for the Spartans and is fourth in the SoCon with defensive rebounds (5.9 per game, totaling 53), while Cain is fifth (5.0 per game, totaling 45).
  • Cain is also third in the SoCon in rebounding, averaging 9.0 boards per game, as Grady is sixth averaging 7.7 rebounds per game.
  • In the conference, Howard sits third with a 44.4 three-point field goal percentage and fourth averaging 1.8 three-pointers per game.

A Look at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore
  • The Hawks dropped a non-conference battle to La Salle University, 77-70, Wednesday night in Philadelphia, Pa.
  • Three from The Shore registered double-digit points, including Taylor Clayborne (18), Zamara Haynes (12), and Amanda Carney (11).
  • The Hawks' offense this season is led by Bairesha Gill-Miles who is averaging 8.3 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game.
  • Carney and Brooklyn Bailey follow Gill-Miles, averaging 7.8 and 7.5 points.
  • The Shore leads the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in points per game (66.1), field goal percentage (41.3 percent), and is second in three-pointers made (27.7 percent).
