GREENSBORO, N.C.- The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team fell to the UNCW Seahawks, 45-42, on Wednesday afternoon in Fleming Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Isys Grady scored the first two points for the Spartans 1:05 into the game.
- UNCW took a five-point lead, but Nia Howard laced a three-pointer to cut the lead to 7-5.
- The Seahawks had the one-point lead with less than 10 seconds in the first quarter.
- UNCW ran the ball down the court to get a last-second shot, but Aja Boyd destroyed that dream with a block as time expired.
- The Spartans scored 23 seconds into the second quarter with a jumper from Boyd.
- Jaylynn Brown opened a 7-0 scoring run to grow UNCG's lead by three. Brown led the run with five points.
- Brown continued to grow the Spartans lead with a Steph Curry style three-pointer with less than three minutes left in the half that expanded UNCG's lead to 26-19.
- The Blue and Gold went into halftime with a 31-23 lead.
- Boyd stayed strong with a layup to earn a trip to the charity stripe to cap off a three-point play to increase the Spartan lead to 10, 36-26.
- A jumper by Grady would end an almost 10-minute scoring drought by the Spartans with 5:48 left in the game.
- A late three-pointer would give UNCW a one-point lead, 39-38, with under five minutes to go.

- Brown led with 14 points. Grady followed with 10.
- Khalis Cain led with nine rebounds and three blocks.
- Boyd also had a block and eight rebounds.
- Jordan Releford and Jailah Clark-Jones led with two steals.
