UNCG Finishes Road Trip At USC Upstate

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Trina Patterson and the UNCG women's basketball team will conclude its four-game road trip with a game against USC-Upstate on Saturday, December 4 at 2 p.m.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
-- The Spartans are looking for their first win in the Palmetto State this season.
--In its last outing, a 60-53 setback to Presbyterian on Wednesday, Freshman Nia Howard and Isys Grady led the Blue and Gold with double-digit points. Howard with 15 and Grady with 12.
--Grady also registered her second career double-double with 12 rebounds to match her 12 points.
--Jaylynn Brown, Nitzan Amar, Anber Redmond, and Grady dished out two rebounds each.
--For the season, Grady leads UNCG in scoring with a 13.1 point per game average.
-- Howard leads UNCG with 12 3-pointers. The Spartans made a season-high nine against Presbyterian.
-- Khalis Cain leads UNCG in rebounding (9.9).

SCOUTING USC-UPSTATE
-- This will USC-Upstate's third home game.
--It has defeated Columbia International and Mars Hill in its previous two home contests.
-- In its last game, USC Upstate defeated Western Carolina, 58-51, in overtime behind 17 points each from junior guard Chellia Watson and freshman guard Rachael Rose.
-- USC Upstate is the fourth member of the Big South Conference that UNCG will face.
-- Senior forward Molly Coleman's 11 points versus Western Carolina gave Upstate a trio of double-figure scorers for the second consecutive game.
-- Coleman has a streak of eight straight double-digit games.
-- Watson is Upstate's leading scorer (14.3 points per game). Coleman (13.0) and Rose (12.0) are also averaging double digits.

SERIES HISTORY
-- This is the first meeting since 2015 between these two programs.
-- The teams have split the four matchups, with Upstate winning 69-60 during the 2014-15 season.
