GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNCG men's tennis commemorates the careers and accomplishments of three Spartan seniors this Saturday, as Nico Grewe, Ollie Palmer and Eric Whisnant compete in the final home match of their senior campaigns, against Chattanooga. 

All three Spartans being honored this weekend were named ITA Scholar-Athletes this past summer while receiving 2019-20 SoCon Honor Roll selections, with Whisnant getting added to the conference's list of Commissioner's Medal recipients. Grewe, Palmer and Whisnant all contributed to a Spartan squad that turned in a 3.58 GPA this past fall, while helping their team to 26 match wins since the 2017-18 season.

HOW'S THEIR FORM?
-- The Spartans came just a point shy of a third straight team win on Thursday, falling to hosts Elon by a final of 4-3. They are 2-2 in their last four matches, but both of those losses have been by a single point
-- The Mocs enter Saturday's contest having lost back-to-back SoCon matchups against Mercer and Samford. They have not won a conference match since March 27th, in a 7-0 blanking of Wofford

-- Grewe is currently on a four-match win streak as an individual, with his seven wins on the season tying teammate Alexander Zuckerman for a team-high. 
-- Roger Rogowski and Cooper Wyett are currently on a four-match win streak when playing alongside one another in doubles play, leading the UNCG roster with six wins in 2021
-- Nico Grewe is one of only three players in the Southern Conference that remains unbeaten while playing No. 2 singles, and is the only player in the SoCon to do so while playing multiple matches at that seed. He is 4-0 after defeating Elon's second on Thursday

-- Sophomore Tomas Rodriguez and senior Turner Voges are tied for a team-high 10 singles wins on the season. All 10 of Rodriguez' wins have come against opponents' top individual this year
-- The combination of Rodriguez and freshman Peyton Gatti has gone 5-1 in SoCon doubles play this year. Their record as the top pairing currently leads the conference

SERIES HISTORY
-- UNCG is 12-8 against the Mocs going back to 1998, but UTC did get the 4-3 win in the pair's most recent meeting in 2019
-- That Chattanooga win in 2019 broke up a five-match win streak the Spartans had going against the Mocs and was one of just three wins UTC has claimed in Greensboro since 1999
