GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) student-athletes steely commitment, determination and its resilience resulted in another fantastic semester in the classroom.
They successfully navigated the many COVID-19-related challenges to thrive in the classroom during the Spring 2021 semester by achieving a 3.45 grade point average.
Overall, for the 2020-21 academic year, the Spartans had a 3.39 grade point average. The men's tennis program had the highest male & departmental team GPA at 3.76. The women's soccer program had the highest female team GPA at 3.72.
"I'm always so impressed by the dedication that our student-athletes have to their academic success," Associate AD for Student-Athlete Support Services & Diversity & Intercultural Engagement
Kristin Rusboldt said. "Even after one of the more challenging years for these individuals, it's easy to see that all of our student-athletes really understand and illustrate The Spartan Way in the classroom.
"Huge shoutout to my staff for showing up everyday - whether virtually or in person - for our student-athletes. Their passion is a main reason our student-athletes continue to have academic achievements met each year."
This was the 15th consecutive semester in which UNCG student-athletes had at least a 3.0 grade point average. There were 196 UNCG student-athletes who achieved at least a 3.0 GPA this past semester. Thirty-seven Spartans had a 4.0 spring semester GPA.
