Spartans Head to Chattanooga to Wrap up First Conference Road Trip

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After a dominant defensive performance, the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team will head to Chattanooga to take on the Mocs on Saturday at 2 p.m.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
-- UNCG is coming off a dominant 56-38 win over the ETSU Bucs.
--Three Spartans finished with double-figure points: Aja Boyd (12), Khalis Cain (10), and Isys Grady (10).
--The Spartans outrebounded the Bucs by 15. UNCG finished with 52, while ETSU finished with 37.
--Cain led the game with three blocks.
--UNCG still sits at the top of the Southern Conference in scoring defense (54.7).
--The Spartans are the only team with three players in the top 10 rebounding for the conference: Cain is third (8.0), Boyd is seventh (7.0), and Grady is 10th (6.6).
--Cain is ranked 20th in the nation in offensive rebounds with an average of 3.9 per game.
--Nitzan Amar moved up to 12th in the conference in assists with 2.1
 

SCOUTING CHATTANOOGA
-- Chattanooga is coming off a 55-48 win over Western Carolina.
--Abbey Cornelius led the Mocs with 17 points. Brooke Hampel followed with 12. Amaria Pugh capped off the double-figure scoring with 11.
--Cornelius tabbed a double-double with 16 rebounds.
--She and Sigrun Olafsdottir dished out four assists.
--Cornelius is second in rebounding with 10.1 and fifth in the conference in scoring with an average of 13.3 points.
--Dena Jarrells is fifth in the conference in steals with 1.5.
--Cornelius sits at the top of the conference in blocked shots with 1.6 per game.


SERIES HISTORY
-- The Mocs lead the all-time series 35-6.
--The Spartans took the last matchup from the Mocs with a final score of 58-50.
--Jaylynn Brown scored a career-high 22 points.
