Spartans Head to Spartanburg for Final Road Contest

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team will head to Spartanburg, S.C. for its final regular-season road contest of the 2022 season. The Spartans will take on the Wofford Terriers on Monday at 7 p.m.
 
This is a makeup game from earlier this season.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
-- The Spartans are coming off two much-needed wins over Chattanooga and ETSU.
--UNCG defeated Chattanooga, 63-61, in their first overtime game of the season on Thursday.
--They beat ETSU on Saturday with a final score of 50-46.
--UNCG leads the Southern Conference in scoring defense (57.0).
--The Spartans have three players on the top 10 rebounding in the conference: Khalis Cain (6th / 7.2), Aja Boyd (7th / 7.0), and Isys Grady (9th / 6.8).
--Boyd and Grady are third and sixth in the conference in field goal percentage with .457 and .432, respectively.
--Pernilla Sorensen sits at 10th in the SoCon in three-point percentage with .321.
-- She has made at least one three-pointer in 10 of the last 12 games.
--Cain is third in the conference in blocked shots with an average of 1.2 per game.
--Boyd is eighth in blocked shots with .7 per game.
--Cain and Boyd are second and third in the SoCon in offensive rebounds. Cain averages 3.4 while Boyd averages 3.1.

--The Terriers lead the Southern Conference in five categories: three-pointer made (7.1), assists/turnover ratio (0.9), turnover margin (+2.92), free-throw percentage (.744), and scoring offense (66.7).
--Jackie Carman is sixth in the conference in scoring. She averages 17.9 points per game.
--Alexis Tomlin is fourth in the SoCon in rebounding with 7.4 per game.
--Reagan Rapert has dished out 3.2 assist this season which ranks second in the SoCon.
--She leads the conference in free-throw percentage with .914.
--Niyah Lutz sit at second in three-point percentage with .407.
--Carman has an average of making 2.1 three-pointers a game which ranks third in the conference.
--Tomlin and Lilly Hatton are fifth and sixth in blocked shots in the SoCon. Tomlin averages 0.9 and Hatton averages 0.8.
