VERO BEACH, Fla. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team stands in 15th position after two rounds of competition at the Quail Valley Invitational on Sunday.

TEAM

• The Spartans stand at a three-under-par (573) after recording a two-over-par (290) in round one and a five-under-par (283) in round two in day one of the two-day tournament.
• Florida Atlantic University (FAU) trails the Spartans with a three-over-par (579) after 36 holes.
• 15 out of the 16 teams have collected an under-par total team score after day one.
• University of South Florida and University of Toledo are currently tied for first place at the tournament with a 28-under-par (548).

INDIVIDUAL

• Kelvin Hernandez leads the Spartans in a tie for 20th place with a four-under-par (140). After recording a one-over-par (73) in the first round, Hernandez found his swing in the second round by posting a five-under-par (67).
• Randall Hudson follows closely behind Hernandez in a tie for 27th with a three-under-par (141). Hudson notched a one-under-par (71) in the opening round in the tournament, while continuing his stride with a two-under-par (70) finish in round two.
• Symon Balbin stands in a tie for 56th place with an even par (144) after the first 36 holes.
• Jack Marcotte is in a tie for 71st place with a four-over-par (148).
• Samuel Davidson posted a 10-over-par (154) on the day to stand in a tie for 83rd place.
• Hernandez and Hudson lead the Spartans with 10 birdies apiece on the day.

UNCG will continue at Quail Valley Golf Course on Monday, Oct. 16 for the final round beginning at 8:30 a.m. In addition, four Spartans will begin individual competition at the Phoenix Invitational in Burlington, N.C. from Monday, Oct. 16 to Tuesday, Oct. 17.
