Four Spartans Complete Day One at the Phoenix Invitational

BURLINGTON, N.C. –  Four Spartans of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team completed day one of the Phoenix Invitational as individual competitors on Monday.

The Leaderboard
  • Tommy Lamb stands atop the leaderboard for the UNCG in a tie for fifth place. Lamb finished the first round in first place after notching a five-under-par (66). However, he dropped back a few spots after the second round with a one-under-par (70) performance.
  • Noah Connor follows closely behind Lamb in a tie for ninth place after carding a four-under-par (138) after the first two rounds. Connor's best game on the day came in the second round with a three-under-par (68).
  • Keenan Royalty sits in a tie for 41st place after posting a one-over-par (143) on the day. Royalty posted a two-under-par (69) in round one of the two-day invitational.  
  • Andrew Graham rounds out the Spartans on the scorecard in a tie for 64th after notching a five-over-par (147).
  • Connor and Lamb both stand on top in a tie with four other participants with two eagles apiece at the invitational. Connor picked up an eagle on hole six in round one and hole 17 in round two, while Lamb's eagles both came on holes 17 in both rounds.

Lamb, Connor, Royalty and Graham will continue at the Phoenix Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 17 for the final round of competition.
