- Elizabeth Kitley is ranked first nationally with a 100 percent free-throw percentage.
- Kitley was picked as the ACC Preseason Player of the Year after receiving 46 out of 61 votes.
- Amoore was named to the Preseason All-ACC Team with two first place votes of her own.
- The Hokies most recently dominated in a 105-36 win over Houston Christian in Blacksburg.

SERIES HISTORY
The Spartans trail the Hokies in the overall series at 1-7. The last time the two teams met was the 2008-09 season in Blacksburg when the Hokies defeated the Spartans by just two scoring possessions, 59-53. UNCG claimed its only victory over Virginia Tech back in the 1992-93 season, 63-54.
