LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS

• UNCG recently dominated in a 75-46 win over Montreat to remain undefeated at home.
• The Spartans only trailed for two minutes and 10 seconds out of the 40 minute contest.
• Khalis Cain and Ayanna Khalfani both captured double-doubles in Wednesday's game. Cain recorded 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Khalfani posted 12 scores and 12 boards.
• Cain also led the squad with three blocks, while Khalfani posted five assists. 
• The Spartans shot over 53 percent in field goals in the second half, going 15-for-28. 
• UNCG notched 32 points in the paint to Montreat's 18.
• The Blue & Gold recorded 39 points off the bench, while the Cavaliers only had two from theirs. 

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS

• The Spartans come into Sunday's contest 4-2 overall.
• UNCG is undefeated at home after claiming a 61-30 win over South Carolina State, a dominating win over Pfeiffer, 93-25 and in its most recent 75-46 win over Montreat.
• Jayde Gamble is ranked sixth nationally with 19 steals on the season.
• Cain is fourth in The Southern Conference (SoCon) with a 7.3 rebounds per game average, while Khalfani is fourth in the conference with 19 assists.  
• As a team the Spartans lead the SoCon in six different statistical categories including in assist/turnover ratio, scoring defense, steals per game, three-point percentage defense, turnover margin and turnovers forced per game.
• The Spartans were picked to finish sixth in the 2023-24 SoCon Preseason Coaches' Poll, trailing ETSU, Chattanooga, Mercer, Wofford and Furman and coming in front of Samford and Western Carolina.
• Isys Grady was named the 2023-24 SoCon Preseason All-Conference Team after her efforts in the 2022-23 season. 

SCOUTING THE RUNNIN' BULLDOGS

• Gardner-Webb heads to Greensboro 0-5 overall.
• The Bulldogs opened up their season in Chapel Hill, N.C., with a 102-49 loss to No. 16 North Carolina.
• The team will host SoCon foe Furman on Wednesday, Nov. 29, following its matchup to the Spartans.
• Gardner-Webb most recently took a 90-78 loss to College of Charleston on Monday, Nov. 20.
• Ashley Hawkins leads the team with 69 points and 26 assists this season.
• Micahla Funderburk and Lauren Baiely stand out from behind the arc with 12 and 11 made three-pointers, respectively.
• Ramatoulaye Keita leads the team with 27 rebounds and five steals.

SERIES HISTORY
UNCG trails in the overall series at 2-4 against Gardner-Webb. The Runnin' Bulldogs and Spartans met last season in Boiling Springs, N.C. Gardner-Webb defeated UNCG, 83-66 in the contest.
