The Spartans threatened the Eagles with runners on second and third with one out in the bottom of the third. Grace Loftin drove in the fourth run for UNCG and Jessie Shipley followed with her own RBI single extending the lead to five.

Morehead State stranded two runners in the top of the sixth, as UNCG saw three-straight walks in the bottom of the frame. After a strikeout, Delaney Cumbie and Samantha Lagrama both walked in one run each. Shortly after with two outs, Jorde Chartrand was hit by a pitch to bring in the third run of the inning and the eighth run of the game for the game-winning tally.
