Box Score WILMINGTON, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team traveled to Wilmington to take on the UNC Wilmington (UNCW) Seahawks on Thursday. The final tally was 0-7 in favor of the home team.
 
"It's never easy on the road. It's even more difficult playing a defending conference champion on the road missing two if your top players," stated Head Coach Paul Thomson. "That's not an excuse. We are talented enough to compete with anyone, even down players. We just have to be better at what we do."
 
Doubles saw the new duo of Olivia Gallagher and Arina Babkova roll to a 6 2 victory on court one. Alexandra Dodashev and Juliana Craft made some early adjustments on court two but late errors cost them the match, 4-6. Court three also saw a new pair in McCollough Perry and Luna Urso play to a 3-6 loss.
 
Singles started very slow. Courts one, three, and five all managed to get back into their matches keeping them close. Two of the courts dropping second set breakers and Urso dropping her third set.
 
The Spartans will regroup on Friday before taking on Davidson Saturday afternoon at home. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
