CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team fell in a tough battle to Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Western Carolina, 3-4, on Friday afternoon.
How it Happened
The Spartans took the doubles point, with
Raegan Mitchell and
Olivia Gallagher taking the first match, 6-3.
Hanna Giddings and
Juliana Craft finished second with a score of 6-4.
The Catamounts took the first two singles matches, with Mitchell winning the third for UNCG in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-2.
WCU countered by taking the next two courts. It all came down to court two with
Arina Babkova and Jade Groen going into two tiebreakers. Babkova came out on top, scoring 6-7(5-7), 7-6 (7-5), and 11-9.
