GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team begins postseason play as the eighth seed in the Southern Conference (SoCon) Women's Tennis Championship. The Spartans will face off against the top-seeded Furman Paladins on Thursday, April 20 with a start time of 1:00 p.m.
The Tournament will take place in Chattanooga, Tennessee at the Champions Club from April 20-22.
The Paladins and the Spartans last faced off on February 5 in Greenville, South Carolina, where Furman won 7-0.
Hanna Giddings,
Olivia Gallagher, and
Arina Babkova forced second-set tiebreakers in their singles matches.
Since 1998 in SoCon Tournament play, UNCG is 7-15 overall in quarterfinal matches. Furman is 4-0 against UNCG in SoCon Quarterfinal matches all-time. Since 1998, Furman has not lost a SoCon Quarterfinal match.

- The Spartans concluded the regular season 5-16 overall and 0-7 in the conference.
- Raegan Mitchell leads the Spartans with a 10-6 record with a 2-4 mark in SoCon play and is 5-5 in her last 10 matches.

- Olivia Gallagher follows with a 7-14 overall record.
- Arina Babkova in the number one singles spot and is 4-11.

- Furman concluded the regular season with an 11-11 overall mark and a 7-0 SoCon record.
- The Paladins defeated then-unbeaten ETSU in its regular season finale, 4-3, to claim its seventh-straight SoCon Regular Season title and 26th in program history.
- Madison Dillon, who plays the majority of her time in the number six spot, is 14-7 overall and 10-2 in the sixth spot.
- Luca Victoria Vocke went a perfect 6-0 in SoCon play this season with a 10-5 overall mark.
- Sara Snyder is the third Paladin that had double-digit wins this season, finishing 10-8 overall.
- Snyder and Jess Dawson went 11-9 in the number one doubles spot with a 6-1 mark in SoCon play.
- Dillon and Vocke also reached double-digit wins, 10-5, playing mainly in the number three spot with a 9-4 record.
The winner of this quarterfinal matchup will play the winner of No. 4 Mercer/No. 5 Chattanooga on Friday, April 21 at 2:00 p.m. in a semifinal match.
