GREENSBORO, N.C.- The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team is excited to announce the addition of four freshmen: Joelle Davis, Kelly Boyle, Yacine N'Diaye, and Makiah Asidanya to the 2023-24 women's basketball team.Â

Joelle Davis, Freshman, Guard Â
Â
Joelle Davis is from Durham, N.C., where she was a three-time TISAC All-Conference player. She totaled 1,264 career points and was stellar from long range, collecting 314 career threes, including 85 during her senior season. Â
Â
Davis was a three-time tournament MVP, and received a Season MVP Award, as well as an Offensive Player of the Year Award. Â
Â
Davis excelled in the classroom, earning honor roll all four years.

"Joelle is an outstanding three-point shooter. She has great size and length; and we believe that not only will she be able to add value with her shooting, but also, she will be able to defend and rebound." Â

Kelly Boyle, Freshman, Guard Â
Â
Kelly Boyle will join the Spartans from Maple Grove, Minnesota, where she joined the varsity team as an eighth grader. Â
Â
She made 75 three-pointers in her senior year, averaging 37.3-percent behind the arc. Over her five years, she had a 2.5 assist-to-turnover ratio and an 84-percent free throw percentage. Â
Â
She was named a four-time All-Conference player with an honorable mention during her freshman and sophomore years. Boyle helped her high school team to a National Championship by ESPN in 2020. Â
Â
Boyle also helped her team become State Champions in 2019 and 2022, while also being a McDonald's All-American nominee in 2023. Â
Â
Boyle shined on and off the court, as she was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars. Â

"Kelly is a proven scorer at the highest high school level and is an outstanding three-point shooter who will play the combo guard position. Kelly is a competitor, a winner, a great decision maker, and a leader."Â

Makiah Asidanya, Freshman, GuardÂ
Â
Makiah Asidanya is joining the team from Pittsburg, California, where she played a total of 103 games, totaling 454 points in her senior year. She also had 168 rebounds, 58 assists, 72 steals, and 10 blocks.  Â
Â
She was named to the SBLive's California All-State Girl's Second Team in 2023 and the Chronicle's Girl's All-Metro Basketball First Team. Â
Â
She helped guide her team to a TCAL League championship and was named to the league's First Team, as well as named the MVP. Asidanya also helped her CIF NCS Open Division team and West Coast Jamboree team to win championships.Â
Â
Asidanya was the leader in points and steals on the CIFNCS Open Division champion and regional finalist. She averaged 14.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 1.8 assists per game, and consistently stepped up in SCP's biggest games.Â

"Makiah is a dynamic combo guard. She is quick, explosive, a good three-point shooter, a leader, and a winner. Makiah is an efficient offensive player and defensive stopper."Â

Yacine N'Diaya, Freshman, Forward Â
Â
Yacine N'Diaya is originally from Thies, Senegal, playing for the S3 Academy team in Richmond, Virginia during her senior year, leading the team in rebounds and blocks. Â
Â
During her junior year, she helped her Chicago Summer Jam team win the Battle of Borders Championship in 2022. Â
Â
N'Diaya led her 24EABL Select Club team to a win against Latin (Chicago) in a summer league for the first time with 10 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Â

Â
"Yacine is a versatile face-up forward. At 6'2 she has great size, is a good mid-range shooter, and rebounder. Her versatility, passing ability, and decision-making will allow for her to become effective at the college level."Â Â
